We will be teaching rock climbing safety and climbing knots.
We will spend the first half of this Field Day fishing for bass, bluegill, sunfish, and catfish at Shield’s Lake in spectacular Byrd Park. Then, we’ll head over to neighboring Maymont Park to embark on an interpretive hike, listen to animal presentations, and enjoy a delicious tailgate-style dinner. Weather permitting*, you can expect to spend a whole afternoon outdoors exploring Richmond’s local parks, learning about wildlife, and spending time with your peers.
This is our annual volunteer training to prepare for the rafting season and to get to know some of our past participants. Open event!
