Hooked on a Shared Mission
For the past seven years, Beyond Boundaries has partnered with Green Top to create inclusive fishing and boating opportunities for groups across Central Virginia. We wanted to take a moment to recognize their longstanding commitment to our mission and the greater Richmond community.
Our work is only possible because of the people, organizations, and businesses that support our goal of making outdoor adventure inclusive and accessible to everyone, regardless of ability level or financial background.
Green Top opened its doors in 1947 as a family-owned gas station and convenience store. In October 2012, the business moved from its original location on Route 1 to the much larger store many of us know today. Although much has changed over nearly 80 years, one thing has remained constant—Green Top’s commitment to its customers and Richmond’s community of outdoorsmen and women.
When we asked Green Top store manager Todd Sadler why they chose to support our mission, he shared, “It just makes sense. [Beyond Boundaries] is about people, and people matter. It’s about giving opportunities to folks that might not otherwise get that opportunity. It’s the things that we love and we’re passionate about. The ability to get outdoors, get on the water, we love that. To be able to help people do that, that’s everything. It strengthens community and extends opportunities to people who may not be afforded those opportunities. In our minds, it’s a perfect partnership.”
Whether you are new to hunting and fishing or a seasoned pro, consider shopping at Green Top. You can feel good knowing that your purchase helps support inclusive and accessible outdoor adventures right here in our own backyard.
Stay tuned for an inside look at Green Top and REI, as we explore bridging the gap between the two outdoor communities.
